Based upon the assumption that Jesus, when asked how should we pray,
didn’t mean for us to use his words verbatim but rather a formula for prayer, here is that formula.
Here is a modern day version of this prayer.

The Lord’s Prayer
as worded by the Alba House New Testament (1970, tr. Condon publishers)

Recognition

Our Father in Heaven, let your holy name be known,

“In this moment, I KNOW that God is all there is. God’s Power and Presence are everywhere, from
the smallest particle to the largest star. God is Divine Wisdom, Infinite Love, and Omnipresent.
There is not a place where He/She is not. In God, there is only perfection, and the template for
perfect health, harmony in all relationships, abundance, and perfect unfolding for every situation.”

Unification

let your kingdom come, and your will be done,

“I am one with all that God is. I am His perfect expression. All the attributes of God are mine.
Within me is also unconditional love, perfect health, wisdom, peace, and harmony.
(add this if for someone else "What is true of me is also true of their name here_____.)
In Universal Mind we are all connected.”

Realization

on earth as in heaven. Give us today the bread that we need,

“I KNOW that I am blessed and that I am guided in all situations and decisions. I know that the
Divine Wisdom within me is always speaking to me.”

Thanksgiving

and forgive us our wrongs, as we forgive those who have done wrong to us.

“I am SO thankful for the awareness of Truth, and for KNOWING that before I even speak this
word, it has been heard in Divine Consciousness and taken car of.”

Release

Do not lead us into trial, but save us from evil.

”I now release this word in perfect confidence to the perfect action of Law of Mind, knowing that as I have
spoken in my alignment with God, it is now done.”

The Language of Treatments
Based upon the research of E. Holmes

Treatments are a specific type of affirmative prayer used in the Science of Mind philosophy. Treatments are
used to recognize that there is only one Power and Presence, that we are One with it, and that all our concerns
and problems are already solved. Using a treatment moves you out of the consciousness of fear or limitation
and aligns you with God’s Truth. The five steps in treatment are shown below, along with examples for each.

1. Recognition

In this step you become fully centered and aware of God’s Presence and Power. You recognized the perfect
attributes of God.

2. Unification

In this step, you know that you are One with all that God is. If you are treating for someone else, you speak
their name and claim the attributes of God for them also. FEEL the Oneness as you do this step.

“I am one with all that God is. I am His perfect expression. All the attributes of God are mine.
Within me is also unconditional love, perfect health, wisdom, peace, and harmony. What is true of me is also
true of _____. In Universal Mind we are all connected.”

3. Realization

In this step, know and declare the Truth of the person’s being, speaking from the highest level of
consciousness you can attain. You are speaking within your own consciousness about yourself and/or the
consciousness of another person.

“I KNOW that I am blessed and that I am guided in all situations and decisions. I know that the
Devine Wisdom within me is always speaking to me.”
“I KNOW that ____ is a spiritual being, whole, perfect, and complete right now. Wholeness and
wellness flow through this person, revitalizing all the cells and organs.”

4. Thanksgiving

In this step, speak your gratitude and thanksgiving for remembering the Truth and KNOWING that the problem
or concern is already taken care of by God.

“I am SO thankful for the awareness of Truth, and for KNOWING that before I even speak this
word, it has been heard in Divine Consciousness and taken care of.”

5. Release

Finally, state and FEEL your release of the treatment to the action of Law.
(You will often hear, “And so it is.”)

”I now release this word in perfect confidence to the perfect action of Law of Mind, knowing that as I have
spoken in my alignment with God, it is now done.”

Notice that prayer treatments are always done in the present tense. We know the Truth NOW. We claim the
solution for the problem NOW. As you do a prayer treatment, you want to FEEL the confidence and peace of
knowing that the problem is solved.

Book of Common Prayer (1559)

Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in
heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass
against us. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen.
